Just a little thing called Reverse Harem...

Updated: Jan 29, 2021

I'm a sucker for a good romance.

I'm also a sucker for a good Paranormal story (obviously).

Combine the two and I'm sold! Everything about Paranormal Romance makes me swoon and sweat-- especially if it's well written. But, once you throw in multiple heroes, well, the sky is the limit! This is a little trope we in the writing community like to call RH-- Reverse Harem.

For those unfamiliar with this particular style of Paranormal Romance, here's a crash course:

Reverse Harem - A Definition

A reverse harem is the opposite of a harem, wherein a harem is directed towards men with women courting the main hero. In a reverse harem, it focuses on a heroine who is being courted by men, usually seven or more.

Okay, seven or more men is EXCESSIVE, but just hear me out...

A few years ago, I met a lovely lass who goes by the name of Rhea Watson (do NOT forget this name, trust me). She wrote a tale called Reaper's Pack. Some of you may have heard of it, for others, this may be your first time. It was the very first RH I'd ever read and let me tell you, mid-way through, I was caught-- hook, line and sinker. Never in a million years did I think I'd be into a book like this.

One woman--for THREE MEN?! Was it even possible?

Oh, darlings-- Yes. Yes, it is.

Ms. Watson has quickly become one of my favorite Paranormal Romance authors, and with good reason. She writes with a depth of emotion that one rarely sees among indie authors these days. Her writing is smart, deep and inherently sensual with a phenomenal grasp of human emotion. It's not just "mommy porn" as some like to call it. The story is always at the forefront, hand-in-hand with each budding relationship.

I'll admit, the concept of polyamory was foreign to me before I began reading Reverse Harem novels. I simply didn't get it. The thought of being with more than one person was a difficult to wrap my brain around, but Ms. Watson writes these romances so well, they come off as natural and easy to understand.

Love is love.

No matter how many people are involved it would seem.

Bottom line, Ms. Watson creates delectable characters that will linger in your mind for months, if not, years to come. Their storylines are both compelling and heartbreaking with just enough humor to keep you snorting and chortling your way through the pages of her books. Her Reverse Harem are the definition of pure entertainment. She is just SO talented across the board.

Do yourself a favor and buy them ALL today. I cannot recommend this woman's writing enough! And I can pretty much guarantee that if you weren't turned on to RH before, after reading an RH written by Ms. Watson, that will all change for you.

I'd suggest starting your foray into RH with Reaper's Pack (first book in the All The Queen's Men series) followed by the second, Caged Kitten. Then do yourself the BIGGEST favor and dive into Root Rot Academy with book one. It is Dark Academia like you have never read before. It centers on the staff instead of the student body and I could not recommend it more!
